SPARK Federal Credit Union: A New Name, Ready On Time

IBEW 76 Federal Credit Union has served union members since 1957. When its board chose a new name, SPARK, we turned it into a brand, a website and a member rollout, ready for the official change on June 1.

Where SPARK Started

Members of IBEW Local 76 founded the credit union in Tacoma in 1957, and it has served union members and their families ever since.

In March 2026 federal regulators approved a wider field of membership, reaching well beyond one local. A name tied to Local 76 no longer fit, so the board voted for SPARK. Then everything members see, from the website to their cards, had to change within a few months without losing the trust built since 1957.

What the Rebrand Needed

  • A finished brandThe board brought a proposed logo. It needed refining and clear rules for using it everywhere.
  • One clear messageSame credit union, same people, new name.
  • A welcome for new localsPages and mail for the IBEW locals joining the field of membership.
  • Everything at onceWebsite, social, email, print, cards and the Google profile, all switching together.

What Changed for Members

A brand ready to use everywhere

We refined the board’s proposed logo, then built the brand guidelines and a set of logo versions for every use.

  • Guidelines covering logo use, colors and type.
  • Logo versions for monthly campaigns, sponsorships and new union locals.
  • Business cards, card designs and swag in the new look.
  • Black#000000
