Musick Auction: Clear Paths for Bidders and Sellers
Weekly sales, busy yards, and a website that had grown one seller page at a time. Now buyers and sellers each have a clear way in, the next sale shows on every page, and bidders with a catalog can search straight to a lot number.

Where Musick Started
Musick Auction has run public auctions in Idaho since 1977, selling everything from cars and guns to heavy equipment and whole estates online every week out of yards in Nampa and Meridian.
The website grew the way most small-business sites do, one page at a time, and most of those pages spoke to people selling. But nearly everyone who found Musick without typing its name wanted to buy, and regular bidders had to hunt for the next sale.
What We Found
- A header that ate the screenOn a phone it filled a big share of the screen, then scrolled away with the page.
- A menu nobody could scanThe phone menu was long and several levels deep.
- Auctions out of sightOn a phone, the first auction sat far down the homepage.
- Pages for sellers, visitors buyingOne consignment page tried to persuade and sign up sellers at once, while people shopping had no pages of their own.
What Changed for Bidders and Sellers
Buyers and sellers each get a clear way in
Before, one consignment page tried to do everything for sellers, and people shopping had nowhere of their own to land. Now every category has a page for each.
- Sellers start right on “Sell With Us,” and “Why Sell With Musick” makes the case on the page that already ranked.
- Buyer pages show upcoming sales and answer the common questions.
- A “Buy at Auction” menu gathers the buyer pages in one place.
Every buyer page links to its seller partner, and back.

Bidders see the next sale from every page
Before, a tall header scrolled away and auctions hid deep in the menus. Now a live strip names the next sale to close and counts down to it.
- A short, plain menu, with panels that list the upcoming sales.
- One-tap shortcuts for search, selling, financing, locations, My Items and log in.
- Search by keyword or jump straight to a lot number.
A homepage that shows what’s for sale
Before, the homepage opened on a “premier full service” headline. Now it says what Musick does and leads with real lots from recent sales.
- “Idaho public auctions. Bid from anywhere.”
- Upcoming sales split by yard, and a shorter “How it works.”
- Sellers meet a person before a form, and first-time bidders get their questions answered.

Easier for everyone, on any device
Before, pinch-zoom was switched off and keyboard users couldn’t see where they were. Now the site works with zoom, keyboards and screen readers, and pages stop jumping while they load.
- A skip link jumps past the menu.
- Images have alt text and headings run in order.
- Lighter pages that settle fast on a phone.
How It Rolled Out
