Stadium Business District: A Neighborhood Audience That Kept Growing
The shops, cafes and services around Tacoma’s Stadium District wanted more of the city to notice them. A steady feed of member spotlights, a district-wide offer and a short ad push built an audience that kept growing after the ads stopped.

Where the District Started
The Stadium District is a Tacoma neighborhood full of independent restaurants, shops and services, and its business association promotes them together.
Before spring 2026 the district’s social accounts were quiet: few posts and almost no reach. The association wanted neighbors to see what was open, what was new and what was on offer.
What the District Needed
- A reason to followPosts worth seeing: the people and places that make the district.
- Every member seenSpotlights spread across restaurants, shops and services, not just the busiest few.
- A jump startA short ad push to put the feed in front of neighbors.
- Growth that lastsAn audience that stays after the ads stop.
What Changed for the District
Member spotlights, every week
Each month’s calendar spotlights member businesses: restaurants, a bookstore, salons, a pharmacy, a grocery. A district-wide #Stadium2026 offer gathers member deals in one place.
- Instagram posts at a far steadier pace than before.
- Photos of real places and people drew the most interaction.
- Reels drew far more engagement than link posts.

A short ad push to get noticed
Small reach campaigns ran from May to mid-June for dining, retail and services, and the #Stadium2026 offers. Instagram ads kept sending people to the district’s profile.
- A small ad budget for the whole season.
- The dining ad sent a steady stream of people to the district’s Instagram profile for pennies a visit.
- A short burst, not a standing cost.
How It Rolled Out
A first season built in steps: content first, then a short ad push, then growth that kept going on its own.
