A WordPress website isn’t a finished product that just sits there unchanged after launch. WordPress, along with the themes and plugins that support it, keeps evolving — and so do the threats.
Here are the three layers of protection every site needs, and how Strategy 3 handles each one for our website management clients.
1. Secure hosting
Protection starts below WordPress itself. Our clients are hosted on WP Engine, which filters malicious traffic, blocks common attack patterns, and encrypts data in transit and at rest — stopping a lot of problems before they ever reach the site.
2. Ongoing plugin and software maintenance
Over 11,000 WordPress vulnerabilities were found in 2025 alone, and 91% of them were in plugins. We regularly review and update WordPress core, themes, and plugins for our clients, watching for issues before they become a real problem.
3. Monitoring and a recovery plan
Even with strong defenses, things can still go wrong. That’s why we pair malware scanning and ongoing maintenance with WP Engine’s daily backups, so a fix is always close at hand.
Security works best in layers — and we handle all three so our clients don’t have to think about it.
